MA (Hons) Sanskrit Distance Education Overview
Distance MA (Hons) Sanskrit is an postgraduate Programme offered by University of Delhi, School of Open Learning (SOL). DU SOL is UGC approved, DEB approved and recognised by AIU - Association of Indian Universities. It is also accredited with NAAC ‘A+’ grade.
The Sanskrit Curriculum is designed at DU SOL to provide deep knowledge of language system and Indian Culture. Here topics are included related to ancient India such as Vaidic Sahitya, Sanskrit Sahitya, Bhartiya Darshan, and basic knowledge of Vyakrana. It helps students with their knowledge enhancement and makes them skilled & competent. It also provides a strong base for pursuing higher studies in Sanskrit or related subjects.
After completing M.A in Sanskrit, students can pursue various job opportunities in different fields like teaching, research in different areas of Indian knowledge system, including Vedic study, Indian Philosophy, etc. Students can also do employment in Cultural Organizations, Archaeology, Civil Services, Publishing, Editing and Translating Manuscripts.
Distance MA Hons (Sanskrit) Course Duration & Eligibility
The Course duration of Distance MA (Hons) Sanskrit is 2 years. DU SOL gives an additional 2 years, which means a total of 4 years to complete their degree. This flexibility in course duration is given to them so that they can pursue a degree without affecting their other work related or personal commitments.
Those who want to apply at DU SOL for admission in MA Sanskrit need to pass eligibility criteria set by the University. Students should have a bachelor’s degree in any field with Sanskrit as one of the languages. Students from Unreserved, OBC, EWS category need to have 50% minimum passing marks in aggregate or equivalent grade. Students belonging to SC, ST, or PwBD category need to have 45% minimum marks or equivalent.
