Distance BA (Hons) Economics is an undergraduate Programme offered by Department of Economics, DU, School of Open Learning (SOL). The programme UGC approved, DEB approved and recognised by AIU. It is also accredited by NAAC β€˜A+’ grade.

Distance BA (Hons) Curriculum provides students a platform to learn about theories, concepts and empirical evidence in the field of economics. Students are offered a rational framework for understanding and analysing the action of economic agents. In BA Economics students learn about topics like history and theory of economics, Finance, Statistics, Political & International Economics and so on.

After pursuing Distance BA (Economics) Hons, students can become Researchers, Professors, Economists, Data Analysts, HR Managers. They can enter into various career fields such as Academia, Law, Journalism, Civil Service, Banking and Private Corporate Sector.

Distance BA Hons (Economics) Course Duration & Eligibility

The course duration of Distance BA Hons (Economics) is 3 years. However, an extendable period of 3 years is given to all students, which means total course duration is 6 years. This relaxation in timeframe is designed for students to give them flexibility of completing their education at their own speed without affecting other commitments.

Eligibility Requirement is mandatory to fulfill if anyone wants to take admission at DU SOL. To be eligible for Distance BA (Economics), students must have a bachelor’s degree with minimum passing marks to be at least 50%. Relaxation is given to students from reserved category as mentioned in guidelines provided by DU SOL.

DU SOL has an affordable and student-friendly fee structure for its BA (Hons) Economics (Distance) programme. Along with academic flexibility, the university also provides Financial Aid Services for students from economically weaker backgrounds.
